After reading through this thread I decided to order one. They have they AK1 on sale for $70 shipped. Seems like a good price to me based on what I read in here. Just wanted to mention it Incase anyone is looking.

Rode with it for a full season, still like it!

 

I like it so much I have 3 of them. I do not like the Carbon as it has a different shell and head shape

 

I picked up two from Blackbeards; one for me and one for my daughter. I'm very happy with the helmets and very happy with Blackbeards customer service (order was shipped fast!)
My noggin measured 23.75, right at the upper limit of Large by their measurement. This worried me because every helmet I've owned is XL...but I followed instructions and ordered the L. First time I put it on I thought it might be a bit snug, but that went away by the time I was half way down the street. Now I honestly forget its there. The ratchet strap is nice too.

 

These helmets are the real deal I hate dot helmets any of em hate the look the heavy weight everything that comes with it. I'm literally sitting in my living room wearing this akoury it's so comfortable and I'm in a no helmet state but I fear for my family and what they would do without me if I take a spill and don't come back. So I'm gonna wear this akoury and I feel good about it .

 

So my AK-88 after a bunch of miles is getting a bit long in the tooth, and was looking at the newer AK-66 Carbon which I believe Akoury introduced last year. The closer I looked at the photos, it looks identical to the "Outlaw Ultra-Low-Profile Carbon" that came out 8-10 years ago. The only difference I see is that Outlaw has added Visor Snaps, and around 30% cheaper. Even zooming in the photos the liner stitching looks identical. Anyone know if these are basicly the same helmet, just rebranded?
