On a trade with a dealer, just figure you'll get back a few year-models older, or you'll have to come up with the difference. A few thou$and difference can be financed very cheaply.
try to sell it outright hten go to the dealer with cash in hand. cash works much better than financing, at least it did for me!
Used to be that way, Cash on the barrel head, now its juice, any thing over 2% is pure profit. Plus that tax issue. Its the other way now, talk credit first then pull out the cash.
