Default Is this something to worry about?

Rode the new 2013 Fatboy Lo about 20 miles this morning. Cool temperature - probably about 45-50 degrees. Bike has V&H Big Radius 2 into 2 pipes and HD Heavy Breater intake with the V&H FuelPak. After about 20 miles I stopped for about 30 minutes and went back to the bike to resume riding. I noticed that I had left the ignition switch turned on. No problem, right. So I turned the "Off" switch to "Run" and hit start. The bike started but stalled after about 2-3 seconds. I did this three times with the same result, even if I gave it a little throttle. The final time I heard a pop and then saw a little smoke coming out of the Heavy Breather air filter. I let the bike sit for about 30 seconds and then tried again. This time it started up fine and I rode the bike without incident the rest of the way.

Anyone know what might cause this? The bike has only about 200 miles on her and it's been running fine, with the exception of a little pop on decel.

I know it sounds weird but the pop out the intake is the computers way of finding the compression stroke. Been that way since Harley removed the troublesome crank position sensor.

So you're saying it's normal?

Yup....

If you follow the correct starting procedure it's less likely to happen, but it doesn't hurt anything when it does.

That's news to me... My 09 has a crank position sensor...I am wondering if you are thinking of the cam position sensor.

I had the V&H big radius and fuel pak went through many changes on the fuel pak before it ran right and to be honest it never really did. it did stuff like you describe all the dam time.
