Not sure what the point is. The whole point of learning how to ride is learning how to ride. If you can't hold your bike up, it's trike time.

Not necessarily to learn how to ride, but can also assist those who don't want a trike but want to continue riding and may have leg issues (age, prosthetic, etc).

I was fortunate enough to meet Pete, the inventor of Leg Up while I was in Florida. Just happened to notice a bike shop and stopped in. Noticed the Leg Up on a bike that turned out to be his. I commented I had seen it in bike magazines and that is how I learned it was he that came up with the idea. A really nice guy who designed the system to keep people riding that for one reason or another are having a hard time holding their bike up. He helped me with a couple issues and gave me very good deals.

After watching the video, Ben is his wrench and pretty good at what he does. Funny thing is that is not Pete's bike as his is orange unless he had it on another of his bikes.

A friend uses the landing gear. He's 84 years old and refuses to ride a trike. And still cranks out 50k miles per year. He makes me look like a wuss.

It might be a good idea for first timers. Still, it is funny looking.

There's a bike in the next town over from me that has training wheels on it. I'm thinking it's a Sporty. If i see it this summer I'll get a pic of it. It always strikes me as strange looking.

Great idea for someone who can't physically hold up the bike anymore, and doesn't want to trike it.

Using them as a training aid? I don't necessarily think that's a good idea. Breeds false confidence IMHO.
