Side project after hours. Need to brush up on my TIG skills first. Havent picked out a latch yet either.

Cool project Softy. Any reason why you didnt use a Sheetmetal break to eliminated a few of those cuts and welds? Maybe your sheetmetal is too heavy. I cant tell what guage you are playing with.

16 and did you see the break next to the sheer. I wanted to TIG it. I have plenty of SS so this box is a proto type. Who knows I might cover this one in leather and brass rivets. Something different now that every other softail I see has a solo bag.

2 more seams to weld and the box is ready for sanding.

This is the prototype. I will cut this hinge off. To dam big but the only SS one I had. Still need to mock it up and drill holes. Shot from the hip on measurements. Also would need a lot of polishing too. Also needs a rain lip but time is a factor today.

I need to get this thing on a scale too. Dont want too much weight out there. I did beef up my swing arm tabs the last time they broke.
