Default Road king gone?!

Just read an article saying harley was discontinuing a few models next year including both the road king and Electra glide classic. What a shame I was hoping to get a tourer in the next two years and really liked the road king classic. What's the difference between the Electra glide classic and the ultra classic?

Road King Classic is going away in the U.S. market, Road King "Standard" to stay.

Just read a few more articles on it and just like you said the classic is gone, seems strange though because I think it's the better looking of the two.

This may not be all right, but here us what i think the Ultra gets you:

- CB radio
- intercom
- passenger speakers
- cruise control
- closer to the poor house

Im sure something is missing or wrong, but thats my best guess. I really was shocked about the Road King. I wonder if the Street Glide cut into sales. Alot of my buddies who would have gone with the RK bougt a SG.

Think the Ultra has the fairing lowers where the Classic doesn't. Then again I could be wrong.

Shame about the Road King Classic. Always see more of them around here than the standard RK.

RK Classic, in addition to the bags, has traditional spoked wheels and wide WW tires.

So does that mean my Classic will go up in value?

The classic has spoked wheels (white walls) and tubed tires. RK (FLHR) standard has tubeless tires and no spokes.
