I was wondering what you guys use on mega long trips as a cruise control alternative. I am looking to do a long trip. Also how are guys riding on the highway without holding onto their bars? Seems like a bump would throw you down...

 

Most Harleys without cruise has a thumb screw under the throttle to add a little tension,so you don't have to hold it open all the time.
