I was browsing around my local dealer while waiting on a friend and came across the coolest Harley Davidson leather jacket I've ever seen in a dealer. It was of the "classic" style and had a really sharp embroidered skull and wings (the new logo) on the back, all of themetal snapshad little skulls on them and the model name was "Relic". I wish I could post a pic of it. It was made out or really heavy leatherand seemedreal good quality.

Well as cool as it was, I have plenty of jackets and wasn't interested in buying another one.A salesgirl ran up and tried to sell it to me and to be polite, I told her maybe later, I would have to think about it. Then she started telling me it was a limited edition, it was the last one in my sizeand that when they were gone there would be no more, etc, etc.

She then went into this big explanation about how HD rolls out small numbers oflimited edition jackets and apparel for men and women twice per year, once in the spring and in the fall.

I am not that big on wearing Harley apparel, but I have been around HD a long time and have never heard about this limited edition stuff, was she yankin my chain?I thought you could always order whatever they normally sell.Anybody else heard of this? Thanks,

Is this the jacket? Its in the Spring 2007 catalog and on HD site with Skull & wing on back between Haley Davidson.

Yep, Limited editions are very common place. They issue a spring and fall line each year, with most items being in limited supply, and available to the dealer for a very short time only. Thats how HD makes more money on Motorclothes, you buy it now, or you don't get that style..makes you buy more than you ever need....Just ask my wife..she has 4 limited edition HD leather jackets...

 

If its the new one I saw in a flyer they mailed out, it is cool. I especially like the vest myself.

The jacket that I currently have is a 'road race' style leather, it has kevlar elbow & shoulder pads - plus has a back protector. It may not be the 'traitional' Harley-type jacket, but it is very comfortable, provides TONS of protection, and looks quite cool.

 

Oh Yeah, the marketing machine spits out two new lines of great appearal, including jackets, each a year... but don't worry the leftovers will be at reduced prices at HOG Rallies nationwide and they'll eventually end up on ebay cheap. The jackets are generally really cool looking but may lack the functionality of HD's permanent collections. I like to pick up Harley jackets on ebay, wear them a year or two, and re-cycle. If one comes along that really works for me, I keep it
