Default Need Cable Help!

Im trying to order cables for my 98 Fatboy so that my 16" Apes will work. I was wondering what size I will need for this. I have read that some used 8" over for the clutch and 10" over for the throttle/idle. Some websites ask for the total length rather than the overstock length. Being that my bike is in storage till monday, can I get total length and overstock lengths for the clutch, throttle, idle cables and front brake lines that Ill need for the 16" Apes. I really want to order these tonight. Thanks for all the help!

Hey Jameson, sorry I didn't get back to ya. I've been sick the last couple days. I got my wiring harness extended and ran through the bars. Mounted the bars and ran the harness through the triple tree. Thats all I've got done so far. I'll measure my cables tomorrow and let you know on this thread. Good luck!

Not sure this will help you, but on my 06 Standard, when I put my 16's on I used 10" over on both the clutch and throttle and idle, and 55" of brake line in between the banjos and everything fit fine. According to the Harley catalog, the same should work for your fatboy, except the brake line, yours might be a couple of inches shorter. I used a piece of plastic tubing I ran to get a measurement for the brake line....Have fun!!

Ok so far I got 70" for clutch and 38.5" for throttle/idle, does that sound right? Im still trying to find brake line now. Any help would be appreciated!

Couldn't find my papaerwork, but my cables are run different than yours anyhow and I don't think that my numbers would work for you anyhow. If you measure the rise of your, or ask someone measure theirs for you, stock or whatever bars you are currently running, then you deduct that number from the 16" of rise leaving you with your + number to order cables or very close anyways. my $.02
