Lucky escape..
For a buddy of mine last Friday. He was over taking a truck in a long open sweeper curve, no oncoming traffic, perfect opportunity. He got had just gotten past the truck and doing around 100 kmh (circa 60 mph) and was moving back into his lane when the bike suddenly uprighted itself and high sided him.
Said he slalomed on his *** past 3 metal posts and onto the grass verge for about 50 yards or so, but walked away with some road rash, a few bruises and a fractured rib. Coulda been a lot worse and he's grateful for it. He doesn't remember at this time if the bike hit something on the road or what happened to cause it to suddenly high side him.
Sadly his bike, a beautiful 2005 deluxe with a seriously worked 88 is totally wrecked, but at least he lives to ride another day.

Dam... glad hes here to cogitate what happened?
I just had a buddy go down 3 days ago returning from the Oregon coast. His girlfriend busted 3 ribs and a wrist and he received some serious tattoo removal. About 10% of his torso is covered with road rash.
