2014 breakout vs Night Rod Special
Dear all,
I am back in the market for a Harley, I saw two bikes that interested me:
VROD NIGHT ROD SPECIAL Black Denim
BREAKOUT ABS White
they both look great, however the VROD is a liquid cooled vs a air cooled.
Any inputs by anyone with experience on these two types of engines?
thank you all,
LCL

The nightrod is bad *** and that will be the next bike in my garage. The breakout is cool but I'm not in love with the tiny headlight. Between the 2 I know what I want, but that doesn't matter.

i also think that the VROD is nicer, but how about the engine difference! also what size CC is a 103 Cubic size?
I know the VROD is a 1250CC.
thanks for the input.

You got that right, in fact I even told Harley: why did they not put the dual headlight as for the Fat Bob (2014) in the breakout!

I have owned both softtails and a vrod. The vrod is the smoothest and fastest bike i have ever owned. If you are want a traditional harley, go with the breakout, cause the vrod is not a tradiotional harley. if you want smooth and powerful and different go with the vrod

I've owned both..2 dynas a Sportster, and two softails (duece and Fatboy)
along with two Vrods ( an 07 W and now a Muscle).
The Vrods ride, smoother and MUCH quicker! I put 17K on my first v rod in one year, thought I needed a "touring" bike.
The Vrod motors are proving to be very good, Some folks have 200K yes 200,000 miles with minimal maintence.
The V rod also has MUCH better brakes!
As was mentioned check 1130cc.com!

My choice would be the Breakout. That huge radiator on the v-rod ruins the looks of the whole bike in my opinion. Looks by your avatar you are leaning toward the v-rod. Which ever choice you make have a ball with it.

Having owned both, a 2009 V Rod Muscle and now a 2013 Breakout, I can tell you that the performance of the V Rod is better in all categories. The braking is way better as well as the acceleration. My only complaints with the Muscle was the transmission (5 Speed) definitely needed another gear, and the lack of accessories available at the time. There may be more stuff out since the bike has been around for several years now.

Thanks for all the inputs guys,
I will probably WAIT until winter and see if I can get a discounted bike. (I am riding another bike for now).
Besides all the above aspects...the BREAKOUT is quite more expensive than the VROD!
Gotta think well on this one...
