are you using a back rest?
For those that use a drivers backrest, is it the cat's meow? I real difference maker? I ordered a mustang seat today for my deluxe and I got the drivers backrest. I have never really liked the looks of a backrest but i do struggle with lower back pain. I guess I can always take it off if I dont like it. I would appreciate your input.

Won't ride without one. Makes a world of difference especially if you have the lower back thing. I don't mind the look either, but the Heritage is more of a bagger than the Deluxe so I can see it might not fit that look. Still awfully nice though.

I don't use it all the time, not when hopping around town or just going to be in the saddle an hour or two. But any trip longer that that??? Gotta have it!
Also, if you're on the interstates a lot, it will help brace you against the wind buffeting.

do you love women ? do you love beer? do you love free money? if you said yes to all of these questions. then you my friend need a back rest. they might look stupid your friends might laugh at you but in the end you will ride longer and be a much happier and well adjusted person and it will all be to the mighty back rest.
yes there great makes sure you get one that adjusts to more then 2 heights......... most back rest fold down so you can get off your bike same as normal

I love mine. I have always had a backrest on my seats because of a bad back. I think it looks ok on a heritage but no so much on a deluxe as it is more of a solo bike.

I took a 15 minute demo ride earlier this summer on an Ultra with no backrest and I couldn't wait to get off because it was so uncomfortable for me. No backresty, no ridey. It's that simple.

So far it's unanimous. I also have a damaged lower back and I rode for many years and miles without one but now that I have experienced one, I never, or almost never, ride without the backrest. With the backrest I can ride 600 miles and more in a day with no back problems. It is probably the best investment I have made on the motorcycle.
