Riders that ride standing up ?
Am I the only one who's seen this ? I'm not sure if it's the same guy, or if there are more than one rider who does this.
This year, I have seen someone riding around standing straight up on the pegs. I followed one for a mile or so, around some bends in the road, and he never sat down. Two other times, I saw someone (dressed similarly) on the other side of the highway doing the same thing.
I don't have a problem with it ( although following the guy got kinda creepy for some reason ), but I'm just curious why someone would do it. The bike looked like it had a seat. Maybe it was a desert racer's exercising ?
It just made me curious.

Great way to take RR crossings or other poor road surfaces, or take weight off your spine for short distances (50' ?). Never heard of any street riders doing it as a general practice, be near impossible if you have floorboards and pullback bars in my view.

Or swamp ***?
We used to stand up in our seat, throw one leg straight back, while holding onto the bars. Someone started calling is "the swan". But just standing on the pegs...no.
