My bike is too loud...weird, right?
I have a 2006 1200 Sportster with a stock exhaust with the baffles removed and the carb rejetted. This is how it was when I bought the bike.
Problem is, the bike is way too loud. I need my husband to get off of my case so I'm choosing to make the bike quieter instead of getting nagged endlessly about it.
Should I just put the baffles back and rejet the carb?
Change the exhaust? Anything else? Thanks!

Slap on a set of baffled slip-ons and you're good to go. ( Probably won't even have to rejet the carb either.)

Wait a second. Men don't nag their wives, especially about motorcycles being too loud. If my wife rode her own, I wouldn't care about anything except that the damn thing ran.
Do you like the sound/loudness of your motorcycle?

Does your bike have the stock air cleaner? If so, I'd install a Screamin' Eagle AC, re-install the baffles and keep the jets. If you don't like how the bike sounds after that, there are lots of aftermarket exhaust systems available for Sportsters. I've been away from Sportsters for a long time and can't really make a recommendation on a system for yours.

If my wife (role reversed) had told me my bike was to loud, I would just say "Whhhhat? cant hear you over my pipes" lol.

I've decided to just make the thing quieter. I'm trying to get him to ride and will most likely give him this bike and get a dyna. So, I'm just looking for the best way to kill it a little. It's good I didn't get the Nightster with the V&H short shots.
