Default Help installing a C & C seat

I feel kind of dumb asking this, but I rather be safe than sorry.

After reading about how good the C&C seats are, I ordered one. Got it today.
So far so good.

My bike is a 2012 Super Glide.

The problem is, on the front of stock seat, the tongue that fits into the slot and kind of locks into position, the tongue is wider and longer than the C&C. It does make the seat feel very secure.

On the C&C the tongue is rounded at the front instead of squared, thinner and shorter.

It is real hard to tell if it is in place or not, it does not lock like the stock seat.

Does that sound normal for a C&C seat? I really dont want to be on a ride and have the seat come off.

Thanks in advance for your reply's.

Call them up and ask them. They are always very helpful.

I was going to call them, but thought someone that has already had a C&C seat would let me know if that is normal, or if I got the wrong bracket.

Another suggestion to call. I have a Mustang and seats into position perfectly. You may have received the wrong seat but I never dealt with a C&C.

Mike, I am kind of thinking I may have got the wrong seat.

Thanks, I will give them a call.

Looking at their site. What is the name of the seat you ordered and the part #?

I don't see the P but from what I do see that seat should work. Just call them and post back with what they say. Best of luck!!!

I have a C & C and love it.
I agree that the front tongue does not feel anywhere near as tight as a stock seat.
That being said mine has never felt loose when riding or come off.
Once you tighten down the rear bolt, see if you can lift the front of the seat clear of the tank, if not, dont worry about it.
it bothered me at first but I dont even notice it now.
I have done numerous long rides on this seat, even a really stupid 24 hr straight ride on this seat with no complaints
