My New bike - My first ride on her!
Earlier this year after a 15 year hiatus (I had a 82 wideglide) I wanted to get back up on 2 wheels.. Ok ok, I bought a used Honda just to see if I wanted to ride again. Long story short after 2 hours of riding, the bike was up on Craigslist and I sold it in a day and recouped my entire outlay of cash. I just couldnt see myself up on a Honda. This was in April.. Literally the next day I stumbled onto a 2007 xl1200c with 3000 miles for short money. I used the bike all summer and enjoyed the heck out of it. I got used to riding again and I "got my chops back". 2 weeks ago literally gassing the bike up a guy made me an offer I couldnt refuse and the Sportie sold. I take a ride over to my buddies shop who specializes in used HDs and customizing telling him Im looking for a big twin, preferably a Heritiage. Low and behold, the next day I cut a deal on a '04 Heritage, Black and gold, 4k miles, V&H longshots, Screamin Eagle intake, ISO grips, HD upgreaded mirrors and floor boards. The bike has more wax than miles on her. Other than some patina to the pipes, shes mint.
I took her out for the first ride on Saturday. I blew off work..... I spent 2 nights in the garage doing a 6 hour detail before the ride. Holy smoke what a great first ride.. The only thing I did was take off the clip on fairing as it drove me nuts. My line of site was right at the top of the fairing so I needed to either raise my head or lower my chin and see double.. By far, the nicest bike I've owned.. Prior I've had a BMW, old Ducati, Triumph, a few Yamahas and the Wide Glide. This one is a keeper!

IMHO the Heritage is the best all around bike Harley has ever built. You wanna take off across country 2-up, throw on t-bag and go for it. Or just wanna turn gas in to noise to disturb the wildlife with no destination in mind, got that covered, too!
Congrats on the Heritage. You'll love it!

I would assume a 6 hour detail invovled a lot of "beverages" I have a heritage and even after a long road trip it doesn't take me more than 1 or 2 hours to get it detailed. Either way, enjoy the ride, they are a great bike, I love mine!

Congrats. Nothing like a good long relaxing ride. Well sometimes a, ***** to the wall ride is good fun too.
