95 Heritage Nostalgia

95 Heritage Nostalgia
Was looking around today at a used Harley dealer in town and I ran across a 95 Heritage Nostalgia that really has me thinking. The bike has 28k miles on it and it is in pristine condition. By far one of the best looking Heritage models that I have seen. My question is this: How are the EVO motors? I have never had an EVO and I am not sure about them. Asking $9900 for the bike but I could probably get it for $8500 out the door. Thoughts? Pros and Cons? Thanks.

The Evo motor is great but keep in mind that is is not counterbalanced and in the Softail it is rigid mounted in the frame. It does vibrate.

Yes sir, at around 70 mph my old '94 heritage would rattle my teeth.... Best Harley I ever had and I wish I had never sold it...

my 1995 Fatboy is running stronger with 45K on it then it did when it was new ! I wouldn't trade it for a tin cam .....

So I have narrowed it down to 2 bikes. I might buy both haven't decided. But if you had to choose one would you choose this 1995 Heritage Nastalgia with an EVO, 28k miles and in pristine condition for say $8500:
or:
A 2003 Anniversary Road King with 15k for $10500.00. For $14k out the door I can add updated head lights and running lights, new braided cables, 16" LA Choppers apes. 21" 52 fat spoke front wheel and tire, 3.5" Rhinehart true dual exhaust and a few other minor pieces. The bike has full LED's and Legend air ride. Not a scratch on it (replacing the parts you see on the bike currently:
If you were 2 choose just one which would it be? Like I said I might buy both, haven't decided yet. Definitly buying one of the 2. 5-6 hr ride time max at the time on either.

Personally, I can't stand the looks of the Heritage--that silly front wheel & cholo pipes are NOT my thing. Although the Evo is prolly a better motor than the Twin Cam, No contest; I'd pick the RoadKing ANY day, and you're gonna move up to a touring bike anyway eventually. The RoadKing is sweet, offer him 9grand cash & work up from there. Don't fall for the "it's an anniversary so it's gonna be worth more" crap.
If you decide on the King, check & make sure the "dogbone" isn't bent--that's the low hanging crosspiece of the frame under the tranny; it's the first thing that gets bent when you bottom out. They are bent on about 1/4 of all the pre-'09 touring bikes out there.
The wheels on the King are beautiful; I hope you don't ruin it with that 21" crap.
