Bike now sounds like a Harley
Just upgraded my 06 Heritage FLSTI exhaust with Vance & Hines straight shot mufflers,air cleaner upgrade and stage 1 download. Sounds great now. Love it, no more teasing by my buddies. My only concern is on hills when engine braking it pops alot is that normal?

If you used the SERT, the dowload is still EPA compliant and will be a little lean. That's most likely the reasoning for the pops.

I wonder how many other folks got loud pipes because of peer pressure or being teased.

You will be fine. I have the same mufflers, have a Vance & Hines Fuelpak and xieds and I still get some popping on decel.

Nice! When I got my pipes, I got used to the popping and was told, "it's the kind of pipes that cause it", so I let it go.

Yeah, I forgot about that. If you have the kind of pipes with flow through/open baffles you will get some popping. If you have more closed baffles you will get little if any popping.
