Why We Ride
#3
Everyone asks me why do I want to start riding again, even after what I do and see for a living. I'll point them to this website and let them watch. You try to explain to people "why", but they still have that look on their face of "ok....but". This film will say what we all try to tell people, but it has the total package of bombarding their senses to explain "why".
Then if they still ask "why".....then they will never get it.

Looks cool, thanks.
Yeah, those who have never been into it will never get it from a description. When we use words between us riders like freedom, peace, sanity break, community.... we understand each other immediately. Even if you have to give it up, or put it on the back burner for a while, it never leaves you. And it always welcomes us back.

There was a Yamaha commercial playing during the sx season that asked 'why we ride". One intelligent answer is "because it gives us courage to do other things in life". i have been riding since I was 8 years old(1974) and have ridden dirt bikes, trials and hill climbers along with riding my cb360 twin to school, still race offroad and mx religiously even after having several bad injuries. I have 20,000 miles on the 2 road kings I have owned in the last 3 years. My 24 yr twins(son and daughter),both college grads(my daughter is in medical school and my son a software engineer) both race. My wife loves to ride on the back of the rk and takes millions of racing pictures. Its in our blood...you can't convey that to no riders for sure!

Just watched the damn thing again! lol....
Made me remember when a buddy at my first duty station (Moody AFB) let me ride his bike, and learn, on the back side of the perimeter road (near the bomb dump). He said he could hear me screaming all the way down the road when I took off. I came back with a huge ****-eating grin on my face. The seed was watered then......
