Default Arlen Ness Partners With MagnaFlow, Pipes Debuting at SEMA

Just posted this over on the blog.

To be honest, I don't really care for his designs all that much, but I'm curious to see what the pipes looks like.

Here's the full press release:

This could be interesting, but something tells me it will be grossly overpriced for what you get. Looking at the website, it only shows one set of pipes right now, and they look pretty plain to me. Nothing that jumps out and says pay more. Granted, maybe magna flow has a great design, but is it going to be so much better than any other brand to justify what will almost surely be a higher price tag?

You would hope with the Ness family involved that the pipes would have a great look.

Ness designs (paint) were cool back in the 70's when he was in San Leandro but their new stuff is just no my cup of tea.

His bike builds are not practical, they are one off's with Chevy fenders and V8 engines.. Just not my style. You pay for the name and IMO, Ness has been gone from HD market for years. If you go to his shop in Dublin they push Victory over anything else.

Out of all the builders out there a great company like MagnaFlow picked Ness? Oh well, they'll do a bang up business with the Vic crowd I guess. The only Ness parts I ever owned were junk and you won't see me getting anything in the future that's associated with him or his son.

The Arlen Ness "big sucker" is a hit thanks to forums like this. It seems like 75% of everyone has one. If I was gonna spend that kinda money on an air cleaner I would spend an extra $50 and buy Performance Machine.

Not a Ness fan at all. I like the Victory idea, and their engineering is solid, but the looks....I mean dayum. The Vision is simply hideous. That fairing on the Indian looks as out of place as a monk in a whorehouse. That oddball oversized fender on one of them I can't recall the name.

As for the MagnaFlow's, I'd be interested to hear them. But I'll admit I'm more a Cherry Bomb fan. Love the glasspacks!

I was over there not too long ago, he had Harley trade ins on the front line, including a CVO Softail Convertible.
