Angry Winter grade fuel

Is there any additive that will help with the loss of mileage? It ain't about the cost of gas but how far I can go on a tank of gas. Fortunately I just got a Reda gas can for my bag and if I had the room I would have gotten another for the other bag.

At the pumps, I've seen a "pop up" come up asking if I want to add something to increase mileage for X amount of money. There's usually 3 choices but I don't know what they're adding, so I've never used it.

I just have my doubts about mileage additives.

I think any additive would just add to the cost of the gallon of gas. Not worth it IMO...

Not sure if this will work or not but would non-ethanol work for ya. In my area, I have access to non-ethanol gas and I have gotten a little better mileage and it helps to keep the moisture down and I have also filled my tank up with it when I know that I am not going to be riding my bike during the winter.

Assuming that your bike gets around 40 MPG. The winter bend gasoline would lower your mileage to 39.3 mpg. Which means that on a bike with a six gallon tank your fuel range would dropped from 240 miles to 235.8 miles.

It is a non-issue (to me anyway).

In the colder areas of the country the cooler air is tricking the mix to go a little richer on the starts and staying that way until the engines warms up, thus using more fuel. Hate to say it but that's the nature of the beast.

Last winter I lost about 35/40 miles per tank. That was on a VTX 1300 with no change in riding habits other than winter blend.

The only additive is more gasoline.

My drop in mileage is much more significant...42-44 MPG -> 37-39.
