Default Winterizaton

Yesterday I did a complete winterization on my FXDC. I thought I was heading into the Hospital todayfor an extended stay and wanted the bike ready for the winter.

Now I find out I have a one day reprieve. Any options on what a four our ride will dueto my detailing and oil change.

I was planning on doing a quick wash after the ride but Iwill not have time to wax and I am concerned that I will undo the work I didyesterday

Any thought

Thanks Brian

Wont do any harm to have oil that has been used for four hours. Go for a ride.

Down my way we "winterize" by puuting on UA Cold Gear or plug in the Gerbing gear.

A 1x day ride won't poison that oil.

As for "detailing"...that's up to your road conditions...but if you're about to head to the hospital and be on "rest" for a while and won't be able to ride for a while, hell I'd go ride in the mud just to get 1x more day in.

Go for a ride.

YeOldeStonecat nailed it.

No "damage" to oil and wax, and a benefit to your general state of mind.

I and all my friends that have owned Harleys since the seventies and have never winterized our bikes except to hook up a battery tender. Once in a great while some guys put in some stabilizer. But that's all. Everything else was done according to the normal maintenance schedule. No body ever had problem when it's time to ride again.
