Default Van Halen

Has anyone heard their song Hot for teacher? I am sure you have. Listen to the begining of the song. Doesn't the drums sound like an idling harley?

Google:

"this is the intro to van halen's "hot for teacher", where the alex van halen (the drummer) imitates the sound of an idling harley davidson. This sound has always fascinated me, as it uses a "musical" instrument to reproduce the "noise" of a motorcycle engine."

"For the layered effect at the beginning, Alex Van Halen strung together 4 bass drums. The rest of it he played using 2. It is a great example of double bass drumming."

Yeah, I've always thought it sounds like a Harley...but do you think that was intended? Or did it just come out that way?
