FXR or Street Bob

FXR or Street Bob
I'm looking to pick up a new bike and i would love to have a FXR but all of the ones I'm finding (in the condition i want) are about $9,000-$12,000. That is a lot of damn money for a bike that's at least 13 years old. I can finance a new 2014 street bob for that much and get a warranty and all that jazz.
guess my question is the FXR frame really worth that much and will I be able to buy parts if need be. What would you do.
appreciate the input

For day to day use and travel, the street bob would get my vote. If I had a second bike, maybe an FXR...they're enjoying a certain cachet these days...I will grant that the frame is better for aggressive handling and it is a lot lighter than the current twin cams but it's also ancient technology.

Guess a lot would depend on how long you were going to keep it. New warranty say a bunch, but I don't know another bike in Harley's line-up that handles like the FXR.
I bought one from a guy about 10 years ago that looked like it had never been washed. Put some bucks in it to get it like I wanted it and should be shot for ever selling it.

One thing I've noticed hanging out on this forum is guys who've owned FXRs think they're the greatest bike ever made. But I've never owned or even ridden an FXR, so I can't give you an opinion there. I would have a hard time spending that kind of cash on a bike thats 30 years old.
I can tell you that plenty of people ride Dynas and ride them very hard, and they can handle very well, especially if you tweak a couple things. For my money I'd buy a used '07 or newer Dyna of your choice.

Owned a '91 FXRS-SP and did a lot of miles -loved it. Traded on a '98 (99 model) FXDX and never looked back. Also owned a '07 FXDB - nice by myself but shocks (standard) sucked two up. Got a '13 FXDF and can honestly say it out handles any of its predecessors or maybe I am finally learning to ride
