Can the fuel tank needle be adjusted?
On my new Dyna Super Glide when the fuel tank needle is indicating below a half tank, it will only take 1.5 gallons to fill it. It's a 5 gallon tank. Can that be adjusted? I don't know what it will show if I burned another 1.5 gallons but I'd guess 'empty' when it would still have 2 gallons. There are ways I can cope but an accurate gauge would be preferable.

Yes, but you'll have to take it to someone that is experienced in this sort of thing. I am aware that aircraft instrument manufacturers do this sort of thing all the time on their repairs. It is important to know that at the full range the needle indicates correctly and at empty it is accurate as well. I'm going to take mine into the shop to see if it can be adjusted. It isn't off by much more than an 1/8th of a tank.

That's good to know, but I'll have to hope my dealer can do it. I'll be asking for that adjustment when I take it in for the 1k maintenance. Maybe it's not to difficult for them but it will be a real pain in the azz if I have to live with it.

Would 'miles to empty' be accurate? Is there something about that gauge that makes it more accurate?

Can the fuel tank needle be adjusted
Interesting my '13RKC won't show full either. I only have 300 miles on the bike so far so I wonder if the miles to empty figure is inaccurate as well. Whenever I buy a new bike I like to carry a small tank of gas and run the bike to reserve so I get an idea of the range. Since these new bikes don't have petcocks this range issue is kinda important. So the dealer can adjust the gauge or do they have to replace stuff?

Vance and Hines super loud one. It isn't anything more than chrome tubes with end pieces and their name stamped on it.
