So the ol lady is buggin me to get us helmets for the highway rides. I am not of fan of the half helmets that make you look like a mushroom. Im looking for some suggestions on where to find a good lookin, low profile, half helmet. Im not worried about it being DOT, just somethin to put on my head. Ive seen some posts on here about leatherup but it appears their low pro design is no more. Whos got some good info?

PS: I dont need any preaching about the saftey of helmets vs no helmets, DOT vs non DOT, full face vs half helmet, etc. I appreciate your point of view but lets just keep it that!

The Akoury AK-88 is about as close to a novelty profile as a DOT can get. A little pricey but fits well, has the ratchet connector and is as low of a half helmet that you can find these days. Several places have 'em. Ordered mine at Hogshoppe in NY. I still have a couple of the Outlaw Ultra lows that were recalled and these are almost as small.

If you're worried about being a GQ fashion model w/helmet...time to look for another hobby...

Sorry & I know you already highlighted, but if it's non-DOT then might as well go au-natural...

 

I don't wear a lid either, however I'm starting want some sort of communication capabilities like blutooth ,bike/bike, rider/pass.
If I could do it without helmet, I would.
Any ideas?

Find something REALLY ridicules, obnoxious funky.
Make sure hers is just as f ugly, Post some pics to friends and family...

I picked up a Bell Pit Boss, I like the drop down feature. I ride on & off base anything that looks remotely non-Dot gets to be a hassle. Slight mushroom head but screw it, as I get older I care less & less what others think.
