So I'm looking at a 2001 wide glide with 17,000 miles for 5500 and he won't go any lower than that. The thing is, I like to buy a bike ride it for a close to a year and sell it to get something else. Do you think it will be hard to sell a harley with that many miles and get close to what I paid for it.

 

17,000 is just run in. He's just been riding it down to the mailbox for 13 years. Anyone buying a 2001 bike is going to expect some miles on it. You'll still get 5k for it in 18 months. Pull the trigger.

That is a steal. 17k on a 2001 is low.

 

Sounds like a good price to me. Especially with the number posted above. Hell you'll probably me able to make money off of that bike when you sell it.

 

$500 under trade is a screaming deal, $5500 is the price for one with 50,000 miles.

 

Personally - I'd buy it.. I'd like a WG in the garage and if the bike checks out, dude thats sportster money..

 

The price is good if it's a clean bike

 

Does it have a clean title...I bought my 01 super glide for $5300. 3 years ago, it has a salvage title...

 

I say go for it....n enjoy it for a year....

 

The book on my 1995 wideglide is 6,750$ I would say it is a good price.
