Well, accident at least gives me excuse for new boots. ;)
One week down, about five to go before I can ride again. But I got some new, pretty darn protective boots to take care of my dogs when I get back on the bike.
You guys will recall, I got lazy and wore my jungle boots when the accident happened. They protected my toes, but not the top of my foot with the canvass upper there, which caused a few broken bones.
So, now I'm adding these to my stable of a good pair of engineers:

Does your S.O. read here ? Because, if so,, then you needed a REASON to get new boots. If she doesn't, then you just needed an excuse.
Nice looking boots.

Thanks all. Can't wait to get back on the iron horse. And Chickin, no way I'm replacing my baby.
These boots are pricey, but it was really hard to find anything else that offered the same protection without looking like a ski boot off the bike. Plus, the insurance is going to reimburse me for my old boots, which took a hit, so I'm upgrading.
Think I'm gonna look for gloves with knuckle protection too. Not the huge motocross kind. Just a little extra protection for my hands. Using crutches for about two weeks now (more to go, unfortunately) has offered a unique insight to how much you really need those body parts.
The foot is bad enough. If it were the hands, I'd have to think of new and exciting ways to wipe my ****.
