Ol'lady and I have been talking about some places to get away on the bike. Would like some comments on Ohio Bike Week. Is this pretty good event?

 

I thought it was ok. I think the best part of it is it gets you somewhere you wouldn't otherwise go, unless you were riding to Cedar Point. I was there last year and rode around the Lake area by Marblehead lighthouse and rode around a couple of the islands on the ferry etc -- they had a freebie day where the ferry ride was free. I also test rode bikes from the Harley and Victory dealers. The riding was quite nice and the weather was great.

As far as the happenings at the rally itself, there are small bike shows, vendors etc and a large block party in Downtown Sandusky with concerts etc. I don't drink much and am not a big party guy but there is plenty to do if that's your thing. IMO, the event itself is more community-oriented rather than being a wild and crazy type event.

I will go again this year and probably ride some of the areas I didnt see along the lake.
