The VA Doc gave me a portable blood pressure devise...due to a neck injury, my blood pressure fluctuates depending on the weather, stress level and diet...Yesterday, just for schmitts and giggles I took my blood pressure before a ride, 140 over 81...after the ride it was 123 over 69...so yes a good ride is therapeutical
the neck injury is a result of a slip on the ice...in Irving TX Dec. 2006
No matter how many people cut me off and come within inches of killing me (this is a daily occurrence down here) I still smile and have a great time. I've been riding down here so long that it doesn't bother me how crazy and irresponsible other people drive.
I spent too many years with the bike spending too much time in the garage. Now that I'm retired, I'm once again starting to roll up the miles. My wife's been telling me for a while that I wouldn't have to take so many pills if I took more rides. Damned if she might not have been right again.
2 things outside of the bedroom that calm me down are long distance running and motorcycle rides. If you took my heart-rate after I went for a run and a ride that morning, tt would probably be equal to the resting heart-rate of a 100 year old ocean tortoise.
