Default Lithium motorcycle batteries

Are there any new 2014 updates to this question. Is there any new info on this type of battery. Better yet, has anyone use one yet? Thanks

Recently installed one in a 2007 Nightster. Weather has been too crappy to really check it out except to say they don't like the cold. Turn the lights on and get some current flowing to heat the battery up some and then it will turn right over.

IS there such a thing as a lithium storage/starting battery for motorcycles, or IC engines, for that matter?

i dont see the point on most harleys. the main advantage is weight reduction. not a huge deal on a 700lb bike.

now on a dirtbike or crotchrocket i'd be tempted.

yeah they're out there. they're cold blooded. and have some self discharge still. unless weight is a primary consideration i'm sticking with agm.

I will go with a lithium for my next battery. The main reason is not for weight but for size and connections. I saw a battery at the International motorcycle show that had 4 connection terminals giving more options for accessories and with a smaller battery I have more room to place items like my load equalizer which is crammed in the side cover now.

Using one of those to start my beast now , at the 6 month point and so far so good and I'm turning over a 93" 12to1 motor with no comp releases . Scary that something that's half the size and about 1/4 the weight puts out 3 times the CCA of the beefiest regular battery I could buy for mine that wouldn't make a year before crapping out . They do cost and you need the correct charger for them , regular one will not work .

When I ordered mine from Antigravity I also ordered a charger from them due to the supposed need for a different charger. What they sent was a charger with these on the front - AGM, Gel, Std. Makes me wonder!
