HD Museum Archive private tour
I had the opportunity, with a dealer group, to tour behind the scenes in the archives yesterday. Apparently this is done on a regular basis for dealer groups. IF you hear of a dealer setting this up, GO!
We were lucky to have the head of the archives, Bill, guide us. Cool guy with a ton of stories. Couldn't touch anything, but a lot of looking and asking. He pulled random stuff out of the boxes in the "small artifacts" room. Amazing what they have put away. Evil Knievel's X rays on a light box as an example.
The bikes in the motorized racks were amazing. Prototypes, etc. Saw a early Buell test bike skinned as a Honda.
So much to see. Ask your dealer if they are planning one. I would assume mainly midwest dealers would do this.

Nice. I have a high school friend who works in the HD travel department and she's going to hook me up with a VIP tour of the factory and hopefully the archives as well this summer. Can't wait.
