Had an "Outlaw T-71 Carbon Fiber Ultra-Light for about a year now. So light you don't know you have it on. Its the only carbon fiber helmet I have tried so can't speak for the others but I like this one just fine. Some don't like the padded straps and cut the padding off. They have another further down the page for less $ but I don't know the difference between them. Here's the link below.

Default headtrip

I really like the head trip helmets, but they are not dot approved. Anyone have experience with a Daytona or Outlaw helmets.

I've got a Vega Helmet Low profile & DOT approved. Fits oval heads best. Visor is detachable.

no, but it makes it legal. if i'm going to wear a helmet, which i don't have a choice in la, then i'm going to wear one that isn't going to get me a ticket, stuck on the side of the road, etc..... hell, the ticket is more than the cost of the helmet.

I have the same helmet. You need an oval head for it to fit correctly. It is very tight on the sides. It fit well now after I removed some of the padding on each sides. Plus I compared the weight of this helmet to my old Vega half helmet and it seems to weight the same.

I've been using a Daytona Polo DOT since October '11; great lid: lightweight, great chin strap system, no mushroom head but definitely not a novelty job.
