I have a chance to buy one of 2 bikes. It's between a 1999 fxdx super glide with 23k miles for $5000 only upgrades are exhaust and handle bars(10 to 12 inch mini apes). Or a 2009 nightster with 6k miles for $5500 completely stock. Now for those of you that haven't read my previous threads, I like to buy a bike, ride it for a year (give or take) and sell it for close to what I paid to get something different to play with. Which bike would you fog with. I know they are 2 completely different bikes and the dyna will be more comfortable, but what do you think would be easier to sell when the time. Comes? An older dyna with higher miles, or a newer sportster nightster with low miles?

That's the reason I'm thinking the dyna over the sportster. On craigslist you see sportsters everywhere but when you look for super glides or lowriders you'll see them there for a few weeks and they're gone.

You answered your own question. I see the same thing every day on CL, many more sportsters on the market. They seem to hang around a long time and the only dynas that stay are usually late models that are way overpriced.

The FXDX will be a better ride. The suspension and brakes are much better than those than the on the Sportster.

That '99 FXDX is one helluva motor-sickle; had one and loved it. Buy it, as it's barely broke in...

If you buy the Sportster, at least you'll only be suck with it for a year.
