The other night I was taking my tank off and don't know why but I forgot to disconnect the gas line. Snapped the fitting off the throttle body tube. Called the dealer and you can't just buy the fitting that is on with just a clamp, had to buy the whole 5" line with the 2 fittings on it for $45. So I had to order it not stocked. Well my son gets home from work . He works at a local car shop (mech) and he looked at the fitting and said wait I will be right back, When he returns he has just what I need. It is a GM fuel fitting and cost me $5. So I win this time LOL
Good move...you can save a lot of cash if you are clever enough, stuff like hoses both fuel and vacuum, clamps and bearings can be purchased at auto zone or napa for less than half what a dealer charges, for instance when I swapped out my 39mm narrow glide for the 49mm FXDB I replaced the neck bearings for less than half the dealer price...
