Default Heat Demons not as warm on TBW grip vs clutch grip

Because the grip doesn't contact the handlebar directly on TBW models, the heat does not transfer as well. Surely others have seen this? Anyone have an idea to improve this? Some way of adding an insulating layer between the handlebar and the grip, that won't interfere with the throttle operation?
