Anyone not wear a Vest
I've been riding for a long time never had a vest, what is your reason for wearing one? I have 3-4 jackets, chaps, and anything else I need to keep warm, bikes have windshields. Is it for putting patches on?

I wear mine in colder weather over my jacket. Typically just wear the vest on hot days, leathers keep me too warm.
Love handle cover up... LMAO, gotta remember that one.

I do not wear a vest or anything leather really, BUT I dont consider myself the average HD rider, Im more of a tshirt, dickies and skate shoes kind of guy!!!!!
No offense to anyone, but the leather stuff just isnt my style, Id rather put a sweater or even a HD light weight mesh jacket that I bought.

A leather vest is cooler than a full jacket and warmer than no jacket. As far as patches go, you can put them on a jacket or a vest so doesn't really matter.
The advantage of leather over fabric clothing is the wind doesn't penetrate it. It serves as a wind block. Also the obvious protection from abrasion.

I didn't usually wear a vest when started riding, tshirt, jeans in summer, heavier jacket in winter. However, I started wearing a leather vest with my brief stent in an MC, now I belong to a riding group that has back patches so I got a black denim vest (it breaths better) and I'll wear it when we go riding, but it is not mandatory, which I like. A vest does block the wind and takes chill off, keeps bugs off chest.
