I will be purchasing a black street glide special in the next week and I wanted to negotiate a price of replacing my stock exhaust.

I am going to go for a blacked out look. I like vance and hines slip ons but obviously when you put a black slip on on chrome headers you get a funky look.

I want my headers black as well.

What are my options? Do I need to just buy the full system from vance and hines? what would you reccomend considering I want a blacked out looks?

Note: I want a nice deep grumble, but I dont want it to be so loud that I cant hear my radio going down the road.

The slip ons I like are the black hi-output slip ons. (This is just based off looks). They are $749.95 on the vance and hines website.
But then I still have chrome headers. What do I do? Do I have to go full system?
I just looked up the price of the full systems and they are about $750 as well. Why would a full system be the same price as a slip on?

I want the dealer to install this which is why im trying to figure this out before I purchase the bike. Plus I want to try to negotiate 20% off the price of all accessories.

 

You could just replace the chrome exhaust heat shield with black ones. Might get you close to the look you want.

 

You could also wrap the pipes if you like the look.
