NY E-Z PASS Placement
I just got an New York motorcycle E-Z pass and wondering where many rider locate it on their bike. It will go on a SG and did not want to place it on the windshield as per NY E-Z Pass instructions. I also hear the New York State is very strict on the placement of the E-Z pass. Where do most of the New York's rider place the E-Z pass on their bikes. I have read some of the other threads on this forum on this subject, but they are from other states.

Here in the SF Bay Area we have Fastrak. The windshield transponder also works inside a saddlebag or other storage compartment in the motorcycle. Fastrak also allows you to register your license plates on-line. This allows toll crossings without the transponder. You are billed through Fastrak taking photos of your license plate.
Does EZ Pass allow you to do this?

A friend of mine took his fairing apart and mounted it inside the outer part of the fairing.

I have heard of people mounting them inside of the Batwing Fairing to the outter shell with no problems. Thinking of doing this myself this year, but currently have it in a bag that attaches to my lowers covers. Had T-Bags on the windshield and put it in there too with no problems. I guess just expierment till you find what works for you. as far as NY strick placement laws, never read them.

Sun Pass here in Florida and I put mine in my windshield bag. Works every time. I do face it in the same direction it would face if mounted on my windshield.

Does NY ofer the bar type ez pass that mounts on the front license plate bracket? I got that for my Road King and mounted it under the light bar. Works great. My other bike I have the windshield one but just hand hold it going through tolls but it's a pain.

Make sure that light turns green as you pass through that toll. If it doesn't, settle it with EZ-pass right away otherwise you will get charged for the whole length of the highway. Good luck with your New York state issued EZ-Pass.
