Default Black Denim paint help

Hello everyone, I have a 13 FLHX in black denim and I am wanting to have some old school pin striping done to it.
The questions I have are

1- What kind of cleaner can the painter use on the black denim to prep the surface? He has done a lot of pin striping for me in the past along with lettering all my construction equipment. He does a fantastic job but he has no experience with the harley black denim paint. He called 3 local dealers and
got 3 different answers on what he could use.

2- Has anyone on hear have experience with having there denim paint pin striped or airbrushed? If so please let me know what your painter used and how the pin striping is holding up to cleaning etc. I have good luck with my painters pin striping holding up on my construction equipment.

I use Windex and a soft rag. As for any other paint done to mine...nothing.

This is just a guess because my motorcycle is not denim black but I have owned guitars that were. Whenever I would have to clean them I would use an isypropyl alcohol because it evaporates quickly leaves no residue, also use a lint free towel.

Yes actual windex works great. That is all I used on mine. Even bought the sealed pack of windex wipes to clean bikes after rides

I use windex and the harley denim cleaner for cleaning but my question is if I use windex to clean the paint is that clean enough for the pin striping to get a good bond?

I had the emblem on mine painted on. I have never used anything other than Windex on the paint. I think you will be just fine with that.

whatever he would use on any other paint. there actually is a clear coat over the denim, it just has a matte finisher in it.

From what I have read and have been told by a few local HD dealers there is no clear over the paint. That's why you can't wax it.
