Default Question for you Cornhuksers

Ill assume by mentioning the Huskers id get a little attention haha
I have a good bud that lives in Omaha and im in South Dakota Ill be taking the Harley down as soon as the weather gets a touch warmer. Someone mentioned Nebraska is a Must have Helmet state. Can anyone confirm this? Ive been BS-ing with some locals and they say if you have a South Dakota license you don't need a helmet. which sounds odd to me id expect we would have to follow there rules. Anyway just looking for some clarity on the subject.
Would I have to stop and put a helmet on at the boarder?

Mandatory helmet law, and yes, you are correct that you are not exempt.

I just bought a novelty helmet and had no trouble. Except during Sturgis time of the year where they would stop bikes on the way to/from because of the lids. but never had a problem the other 50 weeks.

There are some cops that will pull you over for a novelty helmet and not let you leave without a real one too.

They wouldn't lie to a homie, would they?Had to buy a helmet just to ride Nebraska, was not required in Colorado. Worth it,though.

I've got a couple of buds like that, don't you just love 'em? Enjoy your trip and ride safe.
