Default To LED or not?

My TriGlide has the front light setup as on the Ultra Classic and others with 1 headlight and 2 passing lights. I typically run with all 3,on in the daytime for improved attention. I am thinking of converting to LED primarily to improve the daytime attention getting. I have only seen a few Harley's on the road that have LED lights, and I am not convinced they improve daytime attention. The LEDs seem to have a smaller although brighter & whiter beam, that is not as noticeable off angle as the fully filled standard lights.

Am I all wet? What are your thoughts of the co$t benefit of changing over to LED front lights??

Last summer I put LEDs in my SG tail lights - well worth the money, IMO. The difference in visibility was huge. Just yesterday I ordered LED's for my front turn signals, running lamps, and headlight. So, obviously, I think they'll be worth it.

FYI: I found the best prices on amazon.com

I'm gonna go that route when funds permit it.

Are you using a complete kit or the self contained led conversion bulbs?

the led headlamps (daymaker/trucklight) are more focus'd than halogens. so if daytime is your only concern i'd probably opt for a 80w/100w halogen bulb and a modulator for the main headlamp.

everything else i'd switch to LED without a second thought.

They're great at night. I've seen a lot (on coming traffic) and they're pretty bright. Are they worth the costs? I don't, but I like them. Good luck with your decision.

I saw one of the new lights when out yesterday, my first thought was that I didn't notice it any more than other lights coming at me. I myself am going to get the turn and break lights changed over.

Just changed over to LED tail and headlights (HD Layback \ Trucklite Phase 7)
I'm not sure daytime visibility is improved at all, but they cut through the dark like a knife through butter.

I have the Daymaker headlight and I think it is much more visible day or night. I also have Kuryakyn brake and front and rear L.E.D signals. Look killer and I feel day or night.

I recently installed the HD Reflector LED and it can be seen very well from an angle during the day vs the HD projector LED. I run the high beams during the day as long as it's bright out and you can't miss it. It's similar in design to the Truck-Lite 7, but fits and looks allot better IMO. I also converted the turns and taillights on my SG to LED and they are without a doubt, one of the best upgrades for safety.
