Decisions, Decisions
Now that I'm retired I'm planning on doing some road time. Not a big fan of touring bikes, but can see that a street glide would be practical. Been looking for a while:
2014 - $21.5K new
2012 - $18K, 3600 miles
Pros? Cons?
Radio doesn't excite me at all, so info center doesn't matter.
2014 has 2 years of warranty that 2012 doesn't have.
2012 is at Honda dealer, and I have Honda for trade, so might be better deal than at HD.
Will still be keeping my WG either way I go.
Thanx,
Frost

Get the blue one. Wait, go with the red one. Personally if money isn't a major part of the decision it's nice to know if you breakdown it isn't going to cost you anything for the next two years--regardless of miles. If you're going to be doing the touring thing that's always nice to have.

I've always went for new over used. New has no mods. But since you have a trade in, that might be the cheapest way to go.

who would want a harley that was traded in at a honda dealer? the guy was obviously ******* the hell out of the harley and could not stand how it was such a dog. he traded up to a honda. that harley has been rode hard and put up wet many times--buy a new harley...if you must have a harley!

Get the used one, if money doesn't matter... if not get the used one, it doesn't have much miles...
I was in the same dilemma last month:
2014 Vrod about $16K
2008 Vrod, 5K miles (really? 5K miles in 6 years?? LOL) I paid $12K....
Now, with the extra cash (not spending it all on the bike) I've gotten the exhaust, tuner, bike lift..... and a few more things to come.

Best bang for the buck is the Road King. The 14's handle better than any previous touring model.
It will run about 2K under the SG. Two year warranty and a close match in price to the used SG.
