diy painted white wall tires
hi all
i want some white walls on my lo but since i just bought new tires about 2 months ago i dont want to buy a new set so im just going to paint white walls on instead.
i have bought some white wall paint online and am awaiting the delivery.
my question is, has anyone used white wall paint on their tires? not spray paint but specific white wall paint.
and if so did you take the tires off of keep them on the rim/bike, as i plan on painting the tires whilst they are still on the bike .
cheers!

Yeah I've used the stuff before. The rear tire in my sig pic is hand-painted white wall. I did it with the tire still mounted on the bike and used regular painters tape to cover the edge of the rim.
You have to heat the paint up to apply it because it's really thick at ambient temps. I brought a pot of water to a boil then let the whole can sit in there for a few minutes. I also kept it in a bowl of hot water next to me as I used it.
I think it took 2 or 3 coats before it looked right.
I've had it on there for about a year and a half now and it has held up really well. No peeling or anything. It also cleans up pretty easy too. Only problem is that even after all this time it can still smear a little bit when you clean it with something like WD-40 or Aero Kroil (which both work great as a cleaner on it), so I suggest using a light hand when it comes to that.
