Confused about Rear Shocks
I opened a thread a few days ago about changing the rear shocks on my 2011 RGU. I lot of people mentioned using JBI, Ohlins, and Progressives.
I looked at the prices of these shocks and tried to determine what would work best and if they are truly better than the new H-D Premium shocks, which are a lot less money. I also called Motorcycle Metal. Very nice guy, extremely knowledgeable, but I still got sticker shock, even after the discounts.
I really don't have any problem with the comfort and handling of the stock shock on the bike when the shocks a pumped up to around 35-40lbs, AND NOT HITTING BUMPS
Hoping if I clarify my objectives, I can get more help sorting this out because I don't have several hundreds of dollars to throw around and not get it right. My objective is to 1) get rid of my leaking air shocks 2) stop bottoming out so much 3) remain comfortable under a load of about 475lbs (Passengers and baggage).
Thanks!

What exactly is your confusion? That aftermarket shocks are expensive? Harley oem air shocks are Showa. They cost about $330. They arent bad shocks but maybe not great shocks, only your butt can decide. I find them acceptable on my StreetGlide. In fact I just had a new set cut down to 11 inches to really drop the backend.
