Power to weight ratio...
Well, I have been having to drive my truck (2009 Chevy Silverado) since the weather has not been too good lately, and I just couldn't believe what I found.
The first day or two I drove the truck, I would swear the parking brake was on. The truck felt like it was being held back by a lot of weight. I kept checking the brake, checking to see if I had it in drive, looking for any problems.
After a few days, I think I came up with the answer to the problem.
It must be the power to weight ratio.
Riding the Super Glide, I just twist the throttle and it feels like it just wants to go with nothing holding it back.
Driving the truck, there is a lot of weight to move, with that 5.3 V8 w/ 315 hp engine it just feels like it is working hard to move that vehicle.
It is amazing how free I feel when riding my bike, able to speed up and maneuver whenever I need to.
I guess since I have been riding since 1969 it is in my blood to ride.

well yeah a 5000lb truck designed to town stuff is going to feel sluggish. there are fast trucks out there. but a stock silverado 1500 isnt one of them.
but back power to weight. consider a wrx weighs half as much and puts out the same power.

I agree 100%. I drive an 03 Chevy Silverado with the 5.3, same truck as yours. These things are dogs compared to a lot of things. I feel the same way when I get back in mine after getting off the bike.
My friend has an 05 2500 with a Duramax and a tuner on it... 500+ horse makes those trucks so much more enjoyable to drive. Nothing like breaking tires loose at 60 mph to put a smile on your face.

I know how the OP feels. I keep my bike over at self storage units. After a long day of riding on the bike I hop back in my truck to head home and it takes a minute or two to get used to the acceleration of that slow porker again, LOL.
