IF you have never had Chaps before this is how to measure for the right size

Make sure you can bend over to put them on. nothing is more embarrassing than grunting and groaning while struggling to put them on.

You can go for modern ones where you have a quick strap at the back and one at the front or the traditional lace up at the back with a buckle at the front.

how to put them on thist the belt part so it brings the zip to the front of the leg. If you have a bit of a belly twisiting round so you get the first part done up can be a pain in the liver. You can also pre zip the legs partially then step into them.

what ever you do do not wear them without jeans on.. they look gay..

Wait till summer and pick up a cheap pair on Ebay when nobody else is thinking about winter, but somebody is selling off all their HD stuff. I got a barely used Harley pair last summer for $50 shipped.

Thumbs up

Chaps are perfect for what they are intended to do- Quick on when it gets cold, quick off when it warms up.

I bought the cheapest chaps I could find. I don't think they have to be fancy for what they are needed for, and they get dirty quickly.

This place has sizing charts with each pair of chaps for sale. They will also take any amount of time on the phone to help you with your purchase.

There are many other companies who sell chaps, but the inexpensive ones I bought from this place have held up just fine for over 5 years.

Do you really need help with this? Go to a dealer and try on a pair. See what fits, buy it or look for the same thing on E-Bay if you feel it's to expensive. All those measurements mean squat without trying them on. Nothing is manufactured that close to spec.

Chaps = Cold Crotch. Dickies/Carhartt insulated bib overalls leaves no air gap at waist. Covered from ankles to chest/mid back. Easy on/off with ankle to knee zippers.

Personally, I wouldn't buy them online & without trying them on. I have 2 pairs made by ZR1 (I insulated one pair) and they've held up pretty well for about 4 years now. The only issue I've had is a few of the chrome grommets where the belt buckles have come out, but to me, that's not a huge deal.
