N E Washington state roads
Looking for suggestions for N E Washington state roads; ie - is hwy 20 west of Kettle Falls paved...any other lonely twisty paved trails in that area?

Hwy 20 is paved all the way. East of 97, you get into some lonesome roads amidst forested lands, up and over Sherman Pass, which I believe is the highest pass in WA at like 5500 ft. It's closed in the winter, as is Washington Pass over the North Cascades Hwy. In summer months, it's a nice ride with roads in decent condition as I recall. East of Kettle Falls, it's not so interesting. Prairie and wheat fields until you get closer to Spokane. Small towns, little population between.

Thanks for the info; when I zoom in on goggle maps I see miles of potential cruising roads in that area...looking forward to exploring there in a few months...

Hwy 20 is great riding all the way to I5. There was a slide last year in August about 25 miles west of Winthrop. I dont know how long the road was closed for I just had to turn around and go back to 97.

There's more riding up here than you will have time for. HWY 20 west of Winthrop won't open until around May.Hwys 97,17,20,21,25,155,2,Hell,there are too many to mention. All mountain riding. Sherman pass is over 6,000 feet, but is open year around, contrary to what you read above.20 out of Tonasket,to Republic, then south on 21 to the Kettle Ferry, across Roosevelt Lake ,one of the premier rides. Billy Burger in Wilbur is the joint to eat at.I live here,so PM if you need more info.

Check out Dry Falls Park near Grand Coulee. Interesting to look at but the story behind it is fascinating. Imagine 500 cubic miles of water blowing past in 24 hours.
