Default Opinions wanted on plasti dip mod

I plasti dipped the outer area of my air cleaner cover. Thought it might add a little touch of customization and break up the chrome a little. I'm not 100% sure if I like it or not. I'll probably let it on there for a few weeks and see how I feel about. What does everybody think?

It looks good, but main thing is, do you like it?

That's another good thing about the Dip-it's reversible if you find you don't like it!

I like it a lot. How will it stand up to the heat?

I like it too. Good job!

That Plasti-Dip stuff is the nuts. My buddy is a Porsche fanatic and he's doing one of his cars with it.

I like it but as rway said how does it stand up to the heat. I would hate to find out that you ended up baking it on permanently to the air cleaner cover.

I've heard it is rated to 300 degrees. I don't think the air filter cover gets anywhere near those temps.

I like it. Seems like it chipped a little though around the circle of the SE badge? Might just be the light.

I've plasti dipped a few things and chipping can be a problem with it. But it's a good and safe way to try something out. If you don't like it, you can always peel it right off.

Oh, and just FYI, I use that black paint for BBQs that is heat resistant for anything in a high heat area. Like a bracket I made to mount my pipes. I think you'll be fine with PD on the air cover though. That black paint for BBQs actually has a nice "denim" effect.
