Default Side Extensions on HF Lift ?

Anyone put extensions on the sides of your HF lift ? I am getting ready to add some before I have my foot slip on the little bit of an edge that is there. Not much room for a mistake if the bike starts to slip and I miss the edge.

I was thinking 1" angle iron bolted to the deck with a pc of 8" wide 3/4" plywood bolted to that to widen the lift platform a little. The only issue I see is the pedal to crank the table up will need extended to clear the extensions.

Anyone with other ideas or thoughts on how they installed side extensions would be great.

Just lay 2X6 lumber on each side of the lift. Attach some non-skid stuff to the wood so it doesn't slide on the garage floor.
I'm tall enough so I can flat foot the Superglide but BMW is a struggle to reach the floor next to the lift.

Not sure that would work for me as I am only 5'7" with a 29" inseam. My Limited is lowered and can just barely flat foot it. The 7" height of the lift puts me way out of reach of the floor if the bike starts tipping for whatever reason as I approach the chock. Hence the reason for the outriggers... just a little insurance if I need to touch down on the approach.....lol

I have two wood ramps that I made to load the Corvette up onto the car lift.

I used 2, 2"x10"x6', stacked on their side.

When placed on each side of the HF lift, it makes loading the bike a breeze.

Thanks for all the info.

I have decided to use 1" angle bolted the flooring from the bottom with 3/4" plywood bolted to the top of the angle. Not sure what I will do at the pump lever....maybe hinge it there or add an extension to bring it out past the boards
